Site Survey

We conduct a site survey to understand what type of scaffold is required and measure how much material is needed. We then call you with a final quotation.

2

Once happy with the quote, we confirm the booking over the phone. A time will be arranged for the scaffold to be erected. No deposit required.

3

Scaffold Build

On arrival, we confirm all details, erect the scaffold, and conduct a full safety check. Once completed, we ask for the full balance of the agreed amount.

4

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does scaffolding hire cost?

The cost to hire a scaffold depends on the size and duration. Usually priced per linear metre/foot. Additional costs may apply for netting or chutes. Different types require more time and manpower. We complete a site survey before providing a final quotation.

How long does it take to erect scaffolding?

From 2 hours upwards depending on type and size. A scaffold typically takes half the time to dismantle as it does to erect.

Do I need insurance to hire scaffolding?

Generally no — we carry public liability and employers liability insurance. Internal scaffolding is the exception where building owner insurance may be required.

Do I need permission to put up scaffolding?

Not on private land. On council land such as public footpaths, you need permission. A council permit may be required if scaffold goes on roadside or neighbouring property.

Can I put scaffolding on a neighbour’s property?

Yes with their permission. Regularly inspect underneath and pick up waste materials. If refused, you may apply to your local council under the Neighbouring Land Act 1992.

At what height do you need scaffolding?

Anything over 2 metres. Many roofing and window companies insist on scaffold for employee safety. We have experience from 2 metres to 50+ metres.

How often do scaffolds need to be inspected?

We inspect every scaffold once per week. In severe weather conditions, we may inspect twice.

How far can a scaffold be from a wall?

Scaffolding needs to be as close as possible to the wall. Each building is different with extruding bricks or windows. On some jobs, we may attach the scaffold via bolts to provide stability.

How much weight can a scaffold support?

This depends on the size of the scaffold but for reference, each load bearing can withstand up to 2Nm.

How do I know which scaffolding I need?

We would advise you on the best option upon our inspection. Give us a call and we’ll guide you through the options.
